So True!

I heard a funny commercial on the radio today that I totally related to. It was for USA Today and it said something like:

When was the last time you were in the grocery line and did one of the following:
  • Studied the contents of another person's cart
  • Put a hex on the person in front of you who had more than 12 items in the express line
  • Pondered what caused the wet spot on the conveyor belt

I can't remember exactly how USA Today fit in to the add because I was thinking about my answers, which are as follows:

  • All the time. I'm fascinated by what other people are shopping for. Like if you see a young twenty-ish boy with two carts full of beer, funyons and mac and cheese. Classic.
  • Grocery store hexes are very common for me. Not only the people who exceed the limit in the express line, but so many other things. For instance - people who don't return their carts to the little cart parking lot. I hate that! Another cart issue - people who leave their cart right in the middle of an aisle. And one of my favorite hexes - People who have an item in their cart and then change their mind and leave it in a random spot. You know, when you find a can of green beans on the feminine hygiene aisle.
  • I do kind of get grossed out by the wet spots on the conveyor belt. It's almost always a leaky gallon of milk!

I hex people ALL the time at the store. It's the only way to make grocery shopping appealing to me.

I put a pox on people who still use checks and don't start filling it out until they've been completely rung up; people who stand in the middle of the aisle like they've staked a claim on the land; people who bump my cart and don't say "excuse me" or "sorry."

Really, I could go on and on... but my bitterness is increasing, so I'll stop.

Oh Liz! I so agree with the pox on the check people. I mean, aside from not filling it out ahead of time - who uses checks anymore?

I wonder what's more powerful - a pox or a hex?
