My Saturday

I had quite a Saturday this weekend! It included a long detour, mingling with my people, a trip to the ER and Doctor Connor!

I left my house at around 8 am to head up to Bakersfield to help my parents who were volunteering for the Italian heritage club they belong to. Well, at around 8:15, I see a sign saying that the 5 is closed at the 14...exactly where I'm going! I call my dad and he said that they'll probably detour everyone around and I'll be on my way. 45 minutes later, I'd gone only a few miles, so I called my dad again and he gave me a new detour! I'm SO glad my dad knows his way around. I had to turn around, and go back to the 118, go all the way past Simi Valley, take this crazy winding road and eventually, wound up back on the 5 just north of the huge accident which I'm sure all of you have heard about by now.

I finally made it to Bakersfield at around 11:15. As I chatted with my mom and dad, I had this very sudden chest pain and felt like I was going to faint. My dad said I went completely white (as if I could get any whiter than I already am!!). So I sat down, and over the course of the next 45 minutes, the same thing happened a few more times. I was getting scared, so we went to the ER and I was admitted.

First, of course, I had to remove my clothes which is always uncomfortable. Then...to add to the humiliation, in walks Dr. Connor...Dr. Eric Connor...the HOTTEST Doctor I've ever seen. Seriously. I'd say he was in his mid to late thirties, tall, dark hair, a little scruffy facial hair, and super blue eyes that matched his scrubs. I would compare him to the stereotypical guy that would play a Dr. on a soap opera...only hotter!! Under normal circumstances, I'd enjoy just staring at him. But here I am, naked under the stupid pointless hospital gown. I knew they'd have to do an EKG which would require exposing certain body parts. Thank goodness the nurse did it!

Anyway, blood tests, IV fluids, an EKG and a chest X-Ray later, the only thing wrong with me was that I'm anemic. At least I got Dr. Connor's autograph on the prescription for iron pills!

After I was released, my dad came back and picked me up and we went to the Italian festival. My parents volunteered to handle the kids craft table where they could do some Halloween crafts. It was pretty fun. The festival had lots of Italian things - food, wine, Italian Ice, an accordion player playing Godfather music, grape stomping, etc.

Then , Sunday morning, since the 5 was still closed, I had to take the same detour back home - although it only took 2 1/2 hours this time.

Crazy weekend...but at least I have a real live hot Dr. to fantasize about now!!

First of all, I'm SO glad you're okay. What a scare!

Second, so sorry about having to remove your clothes. I hate that. I remember I had to do that when I had tonsil complications and I begged them to just work on my head and let me leave my clothes on.

Third, boy how I wish you were able to take a picture of him. I could use some handsome doctor to fantasize about myself.

I think it really speaks for the power of a good looking doctor when you can write positively about a weekend that included miserable traffic, chest pains, AND public nudity. Hooray for Dr. Eric Connor!

And hooray for you not being dead. I would miss you too much.

Liz - I'd be happy to share Dr. Connor with you. If I'm not going to take a picture of the Hoff for you, I'm certainly not going to take one of my Dr...but it would have been nice!

Rachel - thanks for saying hooray to me not dying! That's always nice to hear. I still don't feel quite right, so this may be an ongoing thing. I bet the next Doctor will be some stinky old man. With my history, I doubt I'd strike Hot Doctor Gold twice in a row!!
