The Difference Between Texas and California

Well, there are lots of differences, actually, and I will possibly write about them as I think of them. Here are a few car and driving related ones:
  • Texas does not make you put your weight on your driver's license. This may be one of the few things I love about Texas more than California. It's dumb to have weight listed anyway since most people lie about it.
  • There is no DMV in TX. You pay your car registration at the County Tax Assessor's office and you get your license from the Department of Public Safety....just a little tid-bit of trivia for you.
  • The registration stickers in Texas are not stuck on the back of your license plate, but on the inside of your windshield.
  • There are bad drivers everywhere (except in my car, of course) but I have figured out the motive behind bad drivers in Texas vs. bad drivers in California: bad drivers in California are usually bad because they are intentionally trying to be total jerks, but in Texas, they are bad drivers because they don't know how to drive. There are exceptions, of course, but that is my general assessment.
  • I don't think I ever saw anyone sing with a thumb mic in Texas. So...next time I see you, Rachel, I need to witness this so I can add it to my list in favor of California!

I'm the 'I don't lie girl. I don't figure that anyone would believe it if I wrote down my ideal weight or they would think 'Hm, she really packed on some weight since she got her license, because she sure as heck does not weigh 130!!' I also don't think most people are going to care about the 5-10 lb discrepancy that most people use. Also, my Wisconsin driver's license makes me look like I have been smoking crack, so I'm not concerned with the weight issue. John also looks like he is on drugs so I am thinking that it is a Wisconsin thing, because as you all know, we are smokin' hot and should not have crappy looking driver's licenses.

I put my real weight on it when I was 16 (I was way too paranoid to try to lie to the government-they know everything!) Is it my fault they keep sending me new licenses with my old info?
