I thought you guys might enjoy my fantastic early morning experience...
I walked in to work at about 5:40 this morning. I was walking up the stairs in the parking garage and I see this weird thing out of the corner of my eye and then hear this blunt, yet squishy noise. I turn to look...a live rat had fallen from...somewhere...and landed on the edge of the stairs...still twitching. It was only about a foot away from me! So gross. I started to run and then saw someone coming - it was one of my co-workers, and I was freaking out a little. I showed him where it was so he could be my witness. So gross. So, So gross!! I'm already afraid of birds because I think they might peck my eyes out. Now, I'm afraid of rats...and parking garages.
I think I might need to go home for the day. Do you think that's a good enough excuse?

I would have run away screaming with my hands frantically waving in the air. I think you definitely have cause to go home.
I always heard that there were lots of rats in big cities, in I never saw any running around until after I had moved away from Philadelphia and then went back to visit a friend. Her street was littered with rats that had been run over by cars...luckily I didn't witness any falling from the sky to their deaths. Remind me to tell you my hanging rat story from my mission sometime if I haven't already.
I couldn't possibly think of a worse thing in the world. I would not only have gotten right back in my car and gone home, but I would have needed to quit my job entirely. That is just so disgusting! I HATE rats. To think that some people keep them as pets.
You are a very strong woman!!
First of all, you get to work before 6am! I'm amazed!! I don't even think I could think before 6am.
Second, that is super gross! I would have felt sick the rest of the day, like rats were touching me.
(Similar to how I feel when I see a spider, like they're all over me...)
