Yes, it's true. I play the lottery from time to time. Especially when the jackpot gets really, really large! Tonight's Mega Millions jackpot is projected at $207,000,000!!! Can you imagine that?
Here's what happens: I see the jackpot and start fantasizing about what I would do if I actually won $207,000,000. I wouldn't ever have to go back to work again! I could spend my time volunteering or starting some sort of organization or something. I could travel all over the world. I would take Mike to Prague because he's always wanted to go there. I would take all of the girls on some sort of first class, amazing trip somewhere. I would of course, share with my family, buy a house with an amazing kitchen, etc., etc.
So, then I think....Regular people win the lottery ALL THE TIME...why not me? So, I run down to this little store and buy $5 worth of quick picks. And then I wait. And as soon as I know the #s will be posted online, I go check and I fully intend to start circling every number on my little paper. I get out my pen and start the comparison. Guess what...out of 35 numbers in the last drawing, I got one. ONE!! Then I get depressed.
There was even one morning where I'd fallen asleep before the winning numbers were posted. I woke up the next morning and started my normal getting ready ritual at about 4 am. And then I thought...shoot...I should have checked the lottery numbers before I showered. Because if I won...I'm going back to bed!! I ran out to my computer and checked...Three numbers out of 35. Sad.
But, in a few minutes, I'll be taking my little self with my $5 downstairs to buy tickets for tonight's drawing. Because while I know that the odds are unbelievably slim...I still have this excited hope and fantasy about winning a huge amount of money like that!
When I win tonight, I'll send you all an email so we can start planning our trip!!

I'm so excited for our trip! Where would we go? I feel like it's you're lucky night.
And I'm so glad you said you would go back to bed if you found out you had won. I once was talking to some co-workers who were going in on a few tickets and they all said that they wouldn't quit there jobs. I said they would be lucky if they got a phone call from me as I shopped on line for a slurpee machine.
Tyler got some scratch-offs as a white elephant gift at his company Christmas party - he won $9...we're planning a trip with that money too. We're going to Chuck E.Cheese but not buying their food (gross), just blowing the whole wad on tokens! Want to come?
I'm voting for Tahiti. I hear the beaches are wonderful and I'm sure they have some cabana boys which is a must if you are to have a really relaxing vacation on the beach. Then we/you can rent/buy a boat/yacht and we can sale off for a lovely little trip. P.S. we will have of course consulted a dr who would have cured Katie's sea sickness quickly and effectively.
Can we wait until Feb for the trip, though because I need to get this baby out of me before I start galavanting.
