Christmas Memories #3, Staircase Theater

The extended family would usually come to our house on Christmas Eve when I was little. For a while, I was the youngest kid in the group since most of my cousins are quite a bit older than me. In our house in Diamond Bar, we had a little landing on the staircase that looked over the dining room table. To me, this wasn't just a landing...it was a stage!!

For a few years, I would put together some sort of performance piece, stand up on my "stage" and perform for the family. The act I specifically remember was a puppet show. I put a sheet over the railing and made little puppets out of construction paper with strings that I controlled from behind the sheet. Here's the classic picture - Christmas 1981.
After I got too old for that, we'd try to force my cousin's kids to perform, but they weren't as excited about it as I was. I wonder if I can bribe my niece and nephew into performing for us? If they won't...no presents for them!!
