What's Missing?

A cookie I always loved as a kid...Nilla Wafers. Mmmmm! I know, there's no chocolate in them, which is weird for me, but they were so yummy! But did you know there's not actually any vanilla in them? Maybe that's why they took off the "va" so there wouldn't be any false advertising. Strange, right? We just automatically associate Nilla Wafers with VAnilla, right? Don't believe me...here's the ingredient list:

Ingredients: ENRICHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMINE MONONITRATE {VITAMIN B1}, RIBOFLAVIN {VITAMIN B2}, FOLIC ACID), SUGAR, SOYBEAN OIL, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED COTTONSEED OIL, WHEY (FROM MILK), EGGS, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, SALT, LEAVENING (BAKING SODA, CALCIUM PHOSPHATE), MONO- AND DIGLYCERIDES (EMULSIFIER), SOY LECITHIN (EMULSIFIER).
This is a deep post, I know...it was just a little perplexing for me and I had to put it out there. Now comes a deeper question. Banana pudding made with Nillas...gross or yummy?

I love using them as the "crust" for cupcake size cheesecakes. They make me very happy. I kind of forgot they existed until I was babysitting the nephews and that was there snack. You know it was a "one for you, three for me" kind of moment.

Tyler really likes the Nilla Wafer, pudding, and banana trifle dessert. I had never tried it in my life until we got married and he requested it. It's alright fresh, but leftovers are the worst ever - brown bananas and soggy cookies=digusting.
